10 ~ November 2012
Regular Wildcat is a information hub my partner Michele is putting out there on the web. She’s inspiring to me in so many ways including this. Enjoy.
07 ~ November 2012
The proofs for Single: Studies of Movement from the Stephanie Gilmore, Spirit of Akasha Sessions came in yesterday. They look beautiful. It’s exciting to be working on a book again, looking at proofs and checking over what will be the final move before printing is always fun and a little nerve wrecking. Calling the art director Jim Newitt from Australia, who is actually English but lives in Santa Cruz, California. Jim is great to work with, helpful and considered, he has art directed my last two books and recently worked with John Witzig on his next publication which is incredible. This is what proofs looks like, they are upside down and back the front with pages all over the place. But it make sense to printers.

One More Man Down
16 ~ May 2012
In the words of Nick Cave “One More Man Down”. One of the greatest New York surfers ever: Mike Macchiato tied the knot at City Hall to his beautiful lady Heidi Fitterling on the weekend. Mike wore a pink and white striped gingham bow tie to the celebration for his ladies. Congratulations mate! All style.
22 ~ April 2012
Dreamboard tails and Dreamboard fins foiled by Robbie Marshall. The fins lie in waiting for the boards, each board and fin unique in their own subtle way, the maker attempting perfection but falling short, creating human character. Is it this human character that hatches the “magic board”? Robbie’s fins lie next to Lost in the Ether, a 100 page book and 60 minute film discussing the process of design and how some shapes move across the water. There’s less than 100 left. Not to be re-printed.
Spirit of Akasha
09 ~ April 2012
Spirit of Akasha is a new film and soundtrack celebrating 40 years of Morning of The Earth that I’ve been working on with Albert Falzon and producer Chris Moss for the last few months. Have a look around the new website for information. It’s been a super fun and interesting project.
Some New Dream Boards in the Making
09 ~ April 2012
These boards are going over to San Diego. Some custom orders. It will be interesting here how they go over there as 90% of the design has roots in that area. Simmons keel template. Skip Frye board Template.

Just received this 400 page Captain Goodvibes book in the mail. It’s simply incredible, that’s all I can say. Here’s the blurb on it and it’s available here.
My Life As A Pork Chop. 1973-1981
Tony Edwards, Edited by Sean Doherty
Captain Goodvibes, the thinking man’s f_ckwit, a lovable abomination, a cartoon pig who became a cult hero to a generation of Australian surfers. Valiantly battling the three-headed Hydra of sobriety, employment and authority, the Pig of Steel took bad taste, substance abuse and pointless revolution out of the gutter and onto the beach, souring young lives and stealing the promise of a bright future from the tiny hands. But The Captain’s story cannot be told without telling the story of his creator, Tony Edwards; an artist, family man, a man of refined sensibilities… and a man who had this horrific creature living inside him.
My Life as a Pork Chop is 400 pages of the very best and very worst of Captain Goodvibes.
The Mullet - A Song of Liberation
